More about Barbara Barrick McKie:
Barbara combines her life-long interests in travel, photography, nature, and experimentation, by fearlessly creating art quilts using new techniques of her invention.
Starting with white fabric, she prints her own Photoshop-manipulated images to polyester fabric, combines them with her hand dyed fabrics, and free-motion quilts them on her home machine. Often she uses trapunto, and more recently thread painting.
Her unique voice in art quilting natural subjects, sometimes with a whimsical twist, has led to many publications from 1975 through 2011 as well as awards in many national and international quilt shows. Her works are also included in numerous public and private collections.
