A message from SAQA-NY artist Heather Stoltz:
Hello Artists! I have exciting news. The Women's Caucus for Art (WCA) is starting a new chapter in NY and I’m going to be the co-president.
We're going to have our launch meeting during the National WCA Convention at the Hilton Hotel.
Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 9 AM
Hilton Hotel
1335 Avenue of the Americas
New York, NY
During that meeting, we will talk about the goals of the chapter and our upcoming networking, exhibition, and performance opportunities. We will also talk about ways to get involved in the chapter.
I'm really excited about helping to bring the WCA to NYC and hope that you will consider joining us! As women artists, we are still underrepresented in NY galleries and museums and the WCA has been working to change this since its founding in 1972. As fiber artists, we're also overlooked often, so let's get out there and do something about it!
Please spread the word and encourage women artists to attend the meeting! You do not have to register for the conference to attend this informational launch meeting. Feel free to contact me at heather@sewingstories.com with any questions.
I hope to see you on Feb 10!
