Accepted art MUST be wired and ready to hang. The exhibition committee will not be doing this!

Highlights from Today's Meeting

Local Color 4

  • Deadline for online submission is February 20, 2020 (window Jan 20-Feb 20, 2020)
  • Submission link: http://www.saqa.com/memberArt.php?ID=3716
  • Acceptance notification is Feb 28th.
  • Drop-off of accepted works is March 7th at the SAQA-CT meeting at the Windham Textile and History Museum - if you cannot be at that meeting send it there with a friend

  • Troves can be mailed to Maureen Lopes, 25 Old Farms Road, Madison, CT 06443 (phone 203-245-9682 and leave a message)
  • Be sure to include check for submission fee

SAQA-CT MEETING - January 11, 2020

Come one and all to the SAQA-CT meeting this Saturday in Watertown!

All meetings are open and free to friends of fabric and stitch.

Meeting from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
We will be having a sharing table (clean out your studio) of freebies. Members can also bring a small table to set up their own art to sell.
As always there will be show and tell.

Alexandra Wahl: Quilts in a New Light

This quilt show is part of the Hartford Public Library’s art walk. The opening reception is Friday, January 10, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. The  show itself will be up through the end of February.

Trove of Twelve - October 2019 update


SAQA CT:  Our Trove of Twelves (2020)

This is a companion exhibit to our signature exhibition Local Color: 3Rs which will begin traveling in 2020.  Submissions are accepted at the January 11, 2020 and March 7, 2020 SAQA CT membership meetings. 

For “Our Trove of Twelves”, members of SAQA CT are encouraged to dig into their trove of 12 x 12’s or create new pieces and submit for showing.

Purpose: Educate the public on the variety of techniques used by fiber artists.

Theme: No specific theme requested.

Venue: The Slater Memorial Museum, and other venues to be determined.

Requirements:
·        12 x 12s should be on stretcher bars/canvas, be wired, and be ready for hanging
·        Works must be in good showing condition and submitted in a cover/bag labeled with the artist’s name.
·        Each piece should be submitted with a brief (20 word) description of the technique(s) used
·        Members may submit up to 3 entries
·        Non-juried showcase

Entry Fee:  $10 for up to three (3) entries

Entry Dates:  January 11 and March 7, 2020 at SAQA CT membership meetings
