Barbara Barrick McKie's art quilt "Shh... She's Sleeping" was awarded Second Place in the Innovative category at the World Quilt Show, New England. As the name implies, artists from all over the world submit entries for consideration in this prestigious show, now in its 13th year.This year's winners included artists from nine countries. Barbara also won two Honorable Mention awards for her artwork in the "Images" exhibition, part of Lowell Quilt Festival this past weekend. The Tsongas Arena in Lowell Massachusetts hosted "Images 2009", a judged and juried show which included over 200 quilts.
