Catherine Whall Smith Earns Honors at the CT Artists Exhibition, Slater Museum

Catherine Whall Smith has earned the Katherine Forest Craft Foundation Prize for Excellence in Textile Art for her work “Gold Hay #5”.

This photo was taken during the show’s opening on February 26th.  Catherine Smith stands with her daughter Tiffany, in front of Smith’s award-winning quilt.

The 68th Annual Connecticut Artists Exhibition will be on display until March 30, 2012.

It is an all media show, but fiber art is well represented.  Catherine had this to say about the opening “It was so good to see lots of fiber hung on the gallery walls and to talk to so many SAQA members in attendance.”

Congratulations to Catherine, and all the exhibitors!
