Liz Alpert Fay will have her work on display in the Stripes show at the Carnegie Center for Art & History in New Albany, Indiana from September 4th until October 24th, 2009. Stripes is an international traveling exhibition of hooked rugs.
On news stands now: Vivika deNegre’s article “Inspired by Nature, Captured in Cloth” appears in the Quilting Arts Gifts Holiday 2009-2010 issue. Included in the article are step-by-step instructions for making Vivika’s raw edge appliqué birds. Congratulations Vivika!
SAQA’s 2009 Benefit Auction – Bidding Starts September 10th at 2:00 pm! SAQA has already received 214 donated artworks and more are on the way. All the artwork is 12" x 12". You can see them on the SAQA website: http://www.saqa.com/newsebulletins/Squares09_1.aspx

Kate Themel will discuss her fine arts background and her 14 year journey into non-traditional quilting at the Mary Baldwin room at Cheshire Public Library. She will share the inspiration and techniques behind her quilted pictures and share examples of her latest work. September 10th, 7:00 - 8:00pm
