Lecture by Fiber Artist Liz Alpert Fay

Saturday, September 24, 2 PM

clip_image001[6]To celebrate the opening of the exhibition Beyond Rugs! nationally recognized textile artist Liz Alpert Fay will give a presentation on the world of contemporary hooking.

Many people are familiar with antique hooked rugs, but few are aware of the new and innovative works being produced by contemporary hooking artists today. In this illustrated presentation, Fay will lead viewers on a journey through the world of artists hooking throughout the United States and Canada.

Liz Alpert Fay studied Textile Design at Boston University and later became intrigued with the technique of traditional rug hooking. Since then she has been creating colorful hand- hooked rugs of her own design. She currently co-curates an annual juried show called "Pushing the Limits: New Expressions in Hooked Art
