The Windham Textile & History Museum will host an artist reception and gallery talk by fiber artist Catherine Whall Smith on Sunday, September 23, 4 - 5:30pm
“Line Dances 2,” an exhibit of eight art quilts by Smith, is on display at the museum through October 19. She also has concurrent exhibits at the University of Connecticut's Babbidge Library and Dodd Center.
The exhibit at the textile museum features Smith's newest work, “The Tree,” completed this summer, as well as a triptych and four other pieces. Besides her signature “line,” a design element that runs through many of her quilts, Smith is also known for hand-quilting all of her work.
The reception and gallery talk is $10 per person, which includes refreshments and a 2 p.m. guided tour of the museum.
The museum is located at 411 Main Street, Willimantic.
Hours are Friday to Sunday, 10 a.m. To 4 p.m.
