Connecticut Women Arts (CWA) invites Portfolio Reviews


If you have a friend or know someone who would rather be 'juried' in to CWA
now is the time to get your materials together to submit for the
jurying process which happens during the first week (or two) of
September. I have included all the information you would find on our
website.

* Contact Sheet (first & last names, phone number, email address &
mailing address)
* 5 JPG files.  Name of each file should be in the format:
title_medium_size.jpg
* Images should be 1920 pixels at 72 dpi on the longest side
* Artist’s Statement (maximum 1 page)
* A brief resume
* Website URL (optional)

Acceptable file formats: Images: .JPG files only / Resumes and
Statement: .DOC file only
Portfolio Review Registration Fee of $25 – Paid via Paypal or by Check
made to Connecticut Women Artists, Inc.
Please Note: Dues for full membership are to be paid when membership
is confirmed by the Portfolio Review committee)

Phyllis Small at the Brush Gallery in Lowell

Phyllis Smalls artwork “Stream of Consciousness” was juried into the Brush Gallery show Something Boro’d Something Blue – an exhibit of Quilts influenced by the Japanese Boro traditions and techniques of layered and stitched patchwork.

Barbara McKie - Featured Artist at Brigham City Museum

Barbara Barrick McKie is at in again. 
This time she is the Featured Artist at the Brigham City Museum's 46th Annual Invitational show in Utah!

JUNE NEWS


This Month - Meeting on June 30, 2018
Sheri Cifaldi-Morrill, owner of Whole Circle Quilts, is our featured speaker at our next meeting on June 30, 2018.
We will meet at a quilting store called Close to Home. The store is located at 196 Boston Post Rd, Orange, CT. Their phone number is 203-878-1654. The time of our meeting is from 10:30 to 2:00.
Sheri, a recent member to our group. Her program, From Hobbyist to Quilt Pro:  How to Make it Happen will be both inspiring and educational.

June Updates - Windham Appraisal Day

Windham Textile Museum - Appraisal Day and LC3 Takedown!

Lois Palmer will be having an Appraisal Day at
the Windham Textile & History Museum (WTHM) on Saturday June 23rd -
from 10-2:00.  Email Lois if you would like to get on her schedule at lpalm5647@gmail.com

Lois is a certified quilt appraiser and can appraise, new, old, art and antique quilts.

The fee is $50, and Lois is donating eight dollars to the museum for each quilt she appraises on that day.

LC3 is coming down on Monday, July 9th.  If you would like to see the installation at Windham, the museum is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10-4.
